Immigration & Illegal Immigration

Immigration

In the 21st Century, immigration is widespread, and it has a value. What I object to about immigration is that it is the physical manifestation of our Governments indifference towards looking after and safeguarding the resident population.

Consider this. When we take on a nurse from South East Asia, we are depriving that country of the benefit of that person. And we are also taking away from our Government the need to provide the education and training of someone from here. The only beneficiaries are the foreign nurse who will earn more than they otherwise would have and our own authorities saving money and effort required to train someone. I believe, we could and should do far more to deliver effective training and development for our own people before we cast around the world for others. I also ask that we show more care and regard for the communities the immigrant is coming from before we plunder them for their best people.

Illegal Immigration

I am deeply opposed to illegal immigrants. I am astounded that anyone can think that a person coming to our shores, and in doing so openly flouts ours and international law, can be considered a suitable person for our country. I believe these persons should be rounded up and sent back immediately.

The cost of entertaining these people the BBC has reported is a staggering  £118Bn and counting.

The notion that illegal immigrants enrich the economy is false. The value of any migrant to an economy depends on their skill set and the needs of that economy. Illegal immigrants rarely have the needed skill set.
